Preparing for Your Measure
PRIOR TO MEASURE:
– The cabinets must be completely installed, fixed in place and secured before
we can measure.
– All decisions regarding color/material choice, including appliances/sinks and faucets, etc will need to be provided to Humboldt Countertops & Surfacing (HCS).
-Sinks and appliances must be on site for accurate dimensions to take place.
DAY OF MEASURE:
– Completely clean off your existing countertops of all items prior to the HCS templators arrival.
– Appointment will take approximately 30-60 minutes
– Allow the HCS templator to gather all measurements needed. They will confirm all
details at your appointment.
**This is the time to ask questions or make any changes. We highly recommend being present for this appointment.
EXPECTATIONS:
After your measure, a HCS templator will communicate any requested changes or additional costs needed to complete your job.
Any changes or additions being made to your project after this time by the client will delay the project or add additional charges depending on the scenario at hand.
Preparing for Your Installation
If you have new cabinets without existing countertops:
– Remove all items from the top of the cabinets & sink base cabinet.
– Remove all appliances out of the immediate work area, unless prior arrangements have
been made.
*If you need assistance, please let us know. We offer moving services for an additional fee.
Things to expect:
– Our installers will always exercise considerable care while performing tear out services. However, scrapes, punctures, digs to wall surfaces, existing tile or cabinets are possible and sometimes unavoidable. This is considered incidental damage and is the customers responsibility to repair.
– Please clear all people/pets out of the work area. Ideally, it is best to clear the work area entirely for safety/work flow.
– Turn off the water and gas lines. If the shut-off valves are not functioning properly, you may need to call a certified plumber to make the necessary repairs prior to our arrival.
– Plumbing may be disconnected, stove moved and old countertops removed before our installers arrive, unless prior arrangements have been made.
– Electrical power must be available at the job site. HCS does not reconnect gas, electric or water lines.
– The work performed during countertop installation often creates some dust. We use various methods to confine the dust, however expect some residue.
